The American Association of Dental Editors and Journalists (AADEJ) proudly announces that Arjun Patel, a May 2026 DMD candidate at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Detlef Moore Scholarship, sponsored by Henry Schein.

This scholarship honors the legacy of Detlef Moore, AADEJ’s long-standing executive director, whose career was devoted to advancing editorial leadership, education, and professional respect in dentistry. It is especially meaningful that the first recipient studies at Moore’s alma mater, the University of Louisville.

The scholarship provided Arjun with a full AADEJ meeting experience in San Diego, including continuing education focused on communication and leadership, travel support, and opportunities to connect with dental editors and journalists.

“Supporting and mentoring young leaders in dentistry and journalism is one of the missions of our organization,” said AADEJ President Dr. Jasmine Shafagh. “The voices of emerging professionals like Arjun are essential in shaping the future of our profession.”
