Course Title: The Complete Patient

4 Continuing Education Hours
Fee: $135
Audience: ALL

Course Description: Dentistry is evolving beyond isolated procedures toward a more comprehensive understanding of the patient as a whole. As restorative demands increase and cases become more complex, many clinical failures can be traced not to technique—but to incomplete diagnosis.

The Complete Patient presents a practical, systems-based approach to dental evaluation that integrates airway health, sleep-disordered breathing, occlusion, TMD, salivary function, medical history, medications, and oral–systemic relationships into everyday clinical decision-making. This course is designed to help clinicians move beyond a tooth-centered model and recognize the underlying factors that drive breakdown, instability, and patient dissatisfaction.

Through real-world application and a structured diagnostic framework, attendees will learn how to synthesize clinical findings, imaging, and patient history into clear, actionable treatment plans. The result is improved predictability, stronger interdisciplinary collaboration, and better long-term outcomes for patients.

This program is highly relevant for general dentists, specialists, and hygienists seeking to elevate their diagnostic process without adding unnecessary complexity to their workflow.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

•             Implement a comprehensive diagnostic framework that integrates dental, airway, occlusal, and systemic factors into a unified approach to patient evaluation.

•             Recognize key risk indicators—including airway compromise, parafunction, xerostomia, and systemic influences—that contribute to dental disease and restorative failure.

•             Utilize clinical and digital diagnostics effectively, including CBCT and patient history, to improve accuracy in treatment planning and outcome predictability.

•             Develop clear, patient-centered treatment strategies that prioritize long-term stability, interdisciplinary collaboration, and improved case acceptance.
