How can KDAIS Benefit You, as a KDA member?

Now that the Association Medical Health Plan has renewed with Anthem with all the new Affordable Healthcare Act provisions, which will make us compliant going forward for 2014, I would like to continue discussions with you about other possible ways you can benefit by purchasing your other insurance policies through KDAIS.

The most important coverage, other than health insurance, is your policy that protects you
and your practice, which is your Professional Liability. We have partnered with CNA, which has a Professional Protector Plan designed especially for dentists. The PPP offers a comprehensive package including professional liability, general liability, and property coverages. KDAIS is the only endorsed Administrator for the state of Kentucky. The endorsement granted by the KDA provides the member with an additional discount that cannot be offered anywhere else. We would love the opportunity to provide you with an outstanding policy and save you money.

Along with the PPP professional liability, CNA also has an excellent Workers Compensation program. Again the program is designed specifically for dental practices. One of the more popular benefits is the needle stick reimbursement coverage. This program will provide financial reimbursement to dentists who pay for blood tests performed on employees after an accidental needle stick to an employee. CNA also provides risk control services to help manage risk and reduce costs. There are over 60 courses provided to the dentists and employees, which are designed specifically for dental practices. Their claim service is ranked top in the nation. You can report a claim 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via phone, fax, e-mail or submit a claim online. Does your current Workers Compensation policy protect you and your employees like this one?

Another policy that is becoming increasingly more relevant is Cyber Liability. Nearly every dental office that stores their patient data on computers is exposed to network security breaches. A Cyber Liability policy would adequately protect and defend dentists who sustain such breaches. This policy would cover not only the website data, but also identity theft - sensitive information that might not be held on the website or Internet, such as tax identification numbers, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, which may be located on internal networks, not just Web sites. New laws have passed that require providers to notify anyone affected by such a security breach. These notification and mailing costs could be substantial. This product has been attractively priced and is easy to obtain. The minimum annual premium begins at $500, making this coverage affordable, even for smaller dental offices.
