We are excited to tell you all what we have been busy working on at the KDA this month. While the KDA has always had a New Dentist program we are re-vamping the program to make it more useful to the new members of our profession. You may be asking your self, am I considered a “New Dentist?” The answer is “Yes” if you graduated 10 years ago or less. This includes residents, graduate students, general dentists and specialists.
We had our first committee meeting in September at the KDA office in Louisville. We met and discussed our goals, put together Our Mission Statement, and planned some events for the year. Since the meeting, we have been busy putting together a Facebook group, Twitter page, and planning our first events.
The mission of the Kentucky Dental Association New Dentist Committee is to:
-Unite the voices of new dentists within organized dentistry.
-Demonstrate the value of membership
- Promote new dentist participation in leadership roles
-Focus on the needs of new dentists and dental students through the development of resources and education.
-Facilitate networking opportunities
-Promote awareness of legislative issues
Please consider joining us at a local event or at the State KDA Meeting. We would welcome the opportunity to meet you and get to know you! Join us on Facebook or Twitter to find out what we are up to and about upcoming events.
